Welcome ALPers!

This is the blog site that I promised all of you.  Although it is still in development, I wanted to get it out there so that I can get some content (blogs) going and get a better idea of how to arrange our features.  As you see above there are only two menu items right now.  Home and blog. This will change as we get further along in our development of this site. I will be adding ALP related materials and articles as well.  Feel free to submit ideas, content, and or materials to me for this site. For the blogs I was hoping to have headings or "rooms" like "Red Heel Diaries" to discuss judgment or preformed opinions of people, places, or things and how to overcome them or Breakthroughs regarding them.  The "Squirrels Lounge" to discuss your progress or distractions and how to stay on course.  The "Cage" room to discuss....you guessed it!  Cage related behavior, thoughts, breakthroughs, etc.  If you have ideas regarding topics for blog rooms or if we should just leave the application as is and write our own titles please let me know.

When you click on "Blog" link above it will take you to the application that allows us to blog in a "Facebook" type fashion.  You will need to sign up, build a profile, and customize your site settings.  We want a sign in because we wanted to be able to control our membership and who will be able to read the contents.  I will put instructions up for this application as soon as possible.

A few important things...

  • You must "add" friends in order to be able to chat directly with them.  I don't think I can override this but I will research.

  • The Activity page is kind of similar to facebooks page when you log in.  It just shows you all the postings for everyone. You can turn this off if you don't want it on your page.

  • We don't currently have files.  Feel free to upload ALP files to share. I have plans to talk to Steph to add some of our "exercises" from class so we can use them for future growth and revelations.

  • Under the "more" menu option there are bookmarks, members, pages, and the "wire".  I am told the wire is "tweet" like postings so I can't wait to start using these features to see what we get.

It is difficult to build a site without being familiar with all the features.  Since this application is new to me it would be nice to have some content going so I have a better idea of how to organize these features.  I appreciate your help with this.
